Leaves

To darkened arms
Fallen leaves embedded.
In mahogany hearse
I slowly threaded.

I saw her there…

In the eyes ablaze
This burning sorrow.
The fiery gaze…
Turned to no tomorrow.

And I felt the desire
To speak without words,
enchanted.
This wish so dire…
Made the heart stop;
It ranted:

“Oh, spirit of naked beauty
Cleanse my spirit now…
Release me from earthly duty
I shall repay somehow...

Carress me with your pale nails
Cut! Cut the flesh deep.
Where amber tells his tales
I shall, silently, fall asleep…

Ghost of freedom, beloved so
Twist deep within me, take my soul
Bleed with the mortal blood of mine
Let me drown in the eyes of thine…”

The hearse became our everlasting bed
And the fallen leaves unto us I did embed…
