Torn apart

As the haze was slowly turning
And melancholy reigned
I saw a shadow burning
But its fire seemed so drained.

”Fed by emptiness are you, beloved?”
My question I now silently recall.
”Consumed my heart the darkness haveth
You arrived just in time for my fall.”

The Queen raised her hand of Forbidden milk
And the darkness came in to take her.
Crying, I touched her skin so soft, like silk
God, why don’t you just let me burn?

”I shall see you in the Fallen Eden
Where angels demons love.
Darkness and light, all is even
Under the sign of the Lost Dove.”

These were the last words I heard from her
Then the mist took this burning silhouette.
Since then, day by day, year after year
With my saviour Shadow I have bred.

Release me from this damned prison
For I don’t want to live anymore.
I shan’t give no earthly reason
Long ago, a beast my heart tore.

And in darkened times, in falling tear
Her whisper forgotten I still hear:

I am alone.

You are alone.

I am forlorn.

You are forlorn.

Leave me in this forest, torn.

I leave you here, my love.
For you shall somehow be reborn.
