The word chocolate comes from the language of the Aztecs amd means 'bitter water' because at firs chocolate was a drink.Nawadays chocolate is one of the popular and recognisable flavours in the world.
This delicious sweet is made from the fermented,roasted,and ground seeds of the tropical cocoa tree. It is difficult to grow cocoa trees.They are only grown twenty degrees north and twenty degrees south of the equator.
Hervesting cocoa beans is a delicate process.First,the pods are harvested and the beans are removed from the pod.Next,they are placed in piles or bins to ferment for three to saven days.The fermentation process is what gives chocolate the bitter taste we know.Then beans must be dried quickly.If the weather is fine, the beans are spread out in the sun.
After that,the drider beans are transported from the pantation to a chocolate manufacturing factory.They undergo a long and compex production process. Some other ingredients are added and the chocolate we love is ready.
