Thanks a lot for your last letter and I'm sorry that I didn't write you sooner. In your last letter you asked me about how we celebrate wedding in Bulgaria.
In Bulgaria many of its ancient wedding traditions are still practiced today. Usually the wedding takes place on a holiday. The bride’s mother performs the ritual kneading of the bread (pitka). For every bride traditional wedding accessories and the white dress are very important. The color of the wedding car is traditionally chosen by the bride.
Early on the morning of the wedding the groom’s family and friends gather at his home. After that groom arrives at the bride’s home. The feast starts immediately after the church wedding when the bridesmaid throws lucky over the bridal couple heads. Most of couples go to the restaurant and celebrate with food, music and dance. In the end of the wedding the bride throwing her bouquet and unmarried girl must to catch it. The groom removes the garter from the brides leg. Then he throws it to the unmarried male.
After the wedding the couple go on honeymoon. Bulgarian wedding already looks a lot like the weddings from other cultures. Please describe your wedding traditions.
