The Calling is a post-grunge rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band was formed by Alex Band (vocals) and Aaron Kamin (guitars) when Kamin was dating Band's sister.

After forming, Band and Kamin were signed to a development deal with RCA. As the band advanced, Sean Woolstenhulme (born 3 March 1981, Gilbert, Arizona) (guitars), Billy Mohler (bass) and Nate Wood (born 3 October 1979, Laguna Beach, California) (drums) were added as extra musicians, and The Calling's first album was recorded. Issued in July 2001, Camino Palmero became a hit, due to the strength of its single, "Wherever You Will Go," first featured prominently at the end of the second episode in the first season of the television series, Smallville, Metamorphosis.[1] Band and Kamin (without Wood, Woolstenhulme, and Mohler) returned in June 2004 with Two. In June 2005, the band took a break. Band has told reporters he has plans for a solo album.
