Borrowed €240bn (£188bn) from the EU, the ECB and the IMF

Not only has Merkel ruled out writing off Greece's debt, Der Spiegel is reporting that Germany has also withdrawn its proposal for additional emergency financing (20 billion euros). They are apparently disappointed as to how Greece's representatives (read : Varoufakis) have behaved.
Actions have consequences. Hopefully next week will be better but it seems like this is a case of well meaning academics hitting a brick wall of reality.
