"What you don`t know can`t hurt you"
Do you agree or disagree?
"Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" goes the famous movie headline. So wrong. There is literally an infinite amount of threats all around us at any given moment, and most people are oblivious of them. I am therefore convinced that what you don't know can hurt you.
Mankind is where it is today because of the ultimate human drive - curiosity. But not everyone is blessed with it. There are those who simply don't care why, what, when, and who. Then we are to ask ourselves: are they affected by the things that happen? Regardless of whether they want it or not, yes, they are affected - directly or indirectly.
For instance, do you know why most people don't get past 60 or 70 years of age when life-span's potential is twice as much? The prime cause lies in the food we consume. Since the time when primitive men first discovered fire to cook their food up to this day, one thing hasn't changed - unawareness that when heated, food turns from "living" into "dead". "What you don't know can't hurt you" doesn't hold much water here. So, every time you start up your oven, you think you are doing it to feed yourself and thus, survive, but in fact you are committing suicide.
In conclusion, there are many underlying dangers everywhere, and our actions or lack of such will determine the outcome. As the little known quote states, "As you sow, so shall you reap."
